Enjoy the beer that you deserve.
This sour, effervescent, and refreshing wheat beer is typically pale to dark straw in color, light-bodied, low in alcohol, and is typically cloudy or 'white' (Weisse).
The Berliner Weisse style of wheat beer is the lightest of all German-style wheat beers. Some have called this style as 'the most purely refreshing beer in the world'. Because of its sour character, the style is often served with sugar syrups of raspberry or woodruff flavor. Legally, the brewing of this style is limited to Berlin, Germany. However, several wheat beers of a similar style are produced in Northern Germany.
This style is regional specialty of Berlin and weisse refers to its light color. This beer style was greatly enjoyed by Napoleon's troops in 1809, who referred to it as 'the Champagne of the North' because of its light, refreshing, and effervescent qualities.
