Dark Lager

Style Family Snapshot

Dark lagers are bottom-fermented beers distinguished by their malt character. This imparts a, you guessed it, darker color as well as a flavor profile that tends towards being more intense, and drier than lagers lighter in color. Some examples may even have roasted malt notes. Some may cheat by using artificial means to achieve their color, but you know that's not what we want to focus on here.
