Attenuation

Attenuation refers to the decrease in specific gravity that takes place as the yeast ferments the wort.

It is a measure of how much of the dissolved solids in the wort is converted by the fermentation process to alcohol and carbon dioxide.

The percent difference between the original specific gravity and the final specific gravity generates this value.
