1800ís - Industrialization

Science. Capitalism. Beer.

As we follow this timeline, we see that throughout history, science, technology and beer innovation are intertwined. More good stuff happens in the 1800s. People use their fancy-schmancy new microscopes to detect brewing yeast, learn its role and isolate pure strains for new styles like the pilsner, which has lived happily ever after. On top of that, they use their new-fangled refrigeration boxes to store their brews and keep them cold. European immigrants to the United States especially take advantage of these developments in the commerce-rich environment of their new home, laying the foundations for big-time breweries. Ladies and gentlemen, itís not your forefatherís beer anymore.
