1900’s - The 20th Century
Prohibition. Corporations. Beer.
The dawn of the 20th century was a dark time for beer. Prohibition came and went, disrupting the booming beer industry’s diversity and many a beer drinker’s lawful celebrations. Mega-breweries managed to regroup after Prohibition’s repeal, creating a market dominated by bleak, um, bland, um, pale…yes, we mean simply pale, mass-produced lagers. Then came the craft-brew revival of the 1980s and 90s, re-infusing and re-invigorating the market with a rich selection of finely-brewed beer.
