Flexible Tubings

What it does :

The typical interior diameter of the tubing that is used is 3/8 inch (9.5 millimeters). This tubing is readily available in hardware stores.

What it is:

Flexible, clear plastic tubing is used to transfer fluid from one vessel to another.

How it works:

This tubing is used to extend the reach of siphons and spigots in transferring beer from one large volume to another. The goal in its use is to transfer the beer with minimal splashing. Splashing causes aeration, which can adversely affect the taste of your beer.

Preparation:

Flexible tubing is used for the cold side of brewing (e.g. fermentation, bottling, and packaging). The tubing comes in direct contact with the beer during the critical fermentation stage. So, the tubing should be cleaned and sanitized before use to prevent contamination.
