Temperature Controllers

What it does :

This device provides the required control over temperature, especially the cooler ones required for lager brewing, that a standard refrigerator setting does not.

What it is:

A temperature controller, or thermostat, is a device that permits you to set and maintain a specific interior temperature for a refrigerator.

How it works:

A temperature controller has a probe which measures the inside air temperature of the refrigerator. It also has a dial for setting the desired temperature. The controller then cycles the refrigerator power on and off as needed to maintain the temperature that has been set.

Preparation:

A temperature controller is used to preside over the cold side of brewing (e.g. fermentation, bottling, and packaging). It does not come into direct contact with the beer. Set it to the proper temperature for the yeast strain being employed.
