Soda Kegs

What it does :

For homebrewers, a soda keg is an extremely useful way to store and dispense homemade beer. The typical volume of a soda keg is 5 gallons (18.9 liters).

What it is:

A soda keg is a cylindrical stainless steel tank with a removable lid used commercially to dispense soda or other carbonated beverages.

How it works:

A soda keg is a tall, narrow container with a sealable lid. It is connected via flexible tubing to a carbon dioxide (CO2) tank and regulator. This gas pressure is then used to dispense the beer through a tap into your glass.

Preparation:

Soda kegs are used for the cold side of brewing (e.g. fermentation, bottling, and packaging). Fermenting beer is highly susceptible to spoilage from microbial contamination. So, the interior of your soda kegs should be sanitized before use to prevent such contamination.
