Swing-top Bottles

What it does :

Bottles keep your beer in convenient form for consuming at home or carrying to a friendís house. A typical swing-top beer bottle volume is 12 ounces (355 milliters).

What it is:

A swing-top bottle is a beer bottle with a plug-type stopper attached via a clamp-down metal loop.

How it works:

Capping is not required for swing-top bottles because the stopper attached to the bottle neck can be clamped in place to close the bottle. Brown glass is best to prevent light from degrading your beerís quality.

Preparation:

Swing-top bottles are used for the cold side of brewing (e.g. fermentation, bottling, and packaging). Bottles should be sanitized before use to prevent contamination of the beer.
