Enjoy the beer that you deserve.
What it does :
Victory malt can add orange-colored highlights and toasted flavor to your homebrewed beer.
What it is:
Victory Malt is a barley malt that is 25 Lovibond in color. It is made by the maltster with a special (secret?) process to achieve its unique flavor profile. This malt contains no enzymes, but requires mashing for starch conversion.
Victory Malt can be 5-15 percent of your grist. Of course, the actual amount you need depends on the style of beer that you are making. Use our brewing calculators to compute the exact amount you need to achieve your specific original gravity and color targets.
To extract fermentable sugars from Victory Malt, you need to mash it with the base malts before boiling the resulting extract in the wort.
