Enjoy the beer that you deserve.
What it does :
Molasses can add a strong, sweet flavor to your beer.
What it is:
Molasses is the residual by-product of the processing of raw cane sugar. The impurities it contains add character and flavor. There are three grades available, which get increasing darker and less fermentable: light, medium, and blackstrap.
Molasses can be 5-10 percent of your fermentables. Of course, the actual amount you need depends on the style of beer that you are making. Use our brewing calculators to compute the exact amount you need to achieve your specific original gravity and color targets.
Add molasses directly to the boiling wort.
