You can use Fuggles hops to make the following beer styles: Amber Ale, American Ale, Bitter, Cask Ale, Christmas Ale, English Ale, Extra Special Bitter, Golden Ale, Lambic, Mild Ale, Nut Brown Ale, Oatmeal Stout, Porter, Scottish and Irish Ale, Specialty Beer, Stout, Strong Ale, Strong Ale and Barleywine. Substitutes for Fuggles hops include: East Kent Golding, Progress, Styrian Goldings, Tettnanger, Willamette.

The Fuggles hop is perhaps the most famous and honored of English hops, capable of providing all essential flavor, aroma, and bitterness to an ale. It was first propagated by Richard Fuggle in 1875 in County Kent, and carries his name. Fuggles hops have a mild, pleasantly soft, grassy, floral aroma.
